Getting to Aspen

Air

  • Fly into the Aspen airport (airport code: ASE). Most accommodations offer free airport transfers to your hotel. Uber & Lyft are typically readily available. There is also taxi service available. The airport is about 10-15 minutes from the town of Aspen and hotels there.

  • Fly into Denver (airport code: DIA). You can either rent a car and drive yourself or contact Roaring Fork Express to shuttle you straight to your doorstep.  Private options are also available. It is a 3.5hr drive.

  • Fly into Eagle (Vail) Airport (airport code: EGE) or Grand Junction (airport code: GJT).  Closer than Denver, only 1.5 and 2.5 hours hours by car, respectively. Hire a car service or rent a car and make the trip to Aspen.

Car

  • The Easy (but still scenic) Route - Head west from Denver on I-70 to Glenwood Springs, through the magnificent Glenwood Canyon. Follow the signs to turn south onto Hwy 82 to Aspen. Use navigation to take you directly to your lodging.

  • The Scenic Route - Head west from Denver on I-70 to Hwy 91. You will begin to see signs for Independence Pass. You will wind up a high mountain pass to find yourself in Leadville. Drive through the main part of town and then turn south onto Hwy 82, which will take you on another long and winding mountain road straight into East Aspen. Be sure to plug in the address of your accommodations before leaving Leadville.

Check C-DOT for updates on road conditions - your route may be pre-determined!

Airbnb

You’ll want to make sure that your rental is within the Downtown Core (or if just outside of it - a very short walking distance). We recommend going through local real estate agents rather than the web platform so you can make sure your rental really fits your needs.

Getting Around

Free Public Transportation

The public transportation system in Aspen is very efficient, but you’ll likely only use it if you want to travel between Aspen and Snowmass or go up to the Maroon Bells for a day. Either way, their interactive website makes it easy to travel (and plan to travel).

Downtowner

The Downtowner is a great way to bop around town for free. Think Uber, but for free, and in a golf cart or electric vehicle. It’s meant to service the West End Neighborhood and is a great way to get between Airbnb’s and downtown!
